Announcements – July 17, 2022

  • Fr. Richard Menees is visiting our church today. Following the service, he will be speaking on his recent trip to Uganda with Bishop Eric. Fr. Richard will also be sharing about a retreat center on Bushara Island, owned by the Kigezi Diocese, that he will be helping to develop with his wife Martha during their upcoming 3-year mission.
  • On Saturday, July 30, from 12-3 pm we will be having Water Day and a Cook Out for families with children at Christ the King. We are renting an inflatable water slide for the youth to use in the parking lot. There will be grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and side salads that families provide. Speak to Amanda Barry for more information or to Barbara Arnts to bring a salad. We will be having a church-wide Cook Out for everyone on September 3 for Labor Day.
  • There will be intermittent office hours on Wednesday, July 20, and Thursday July 28. The office will be closed on Thursday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 27, since Melody will be on a mission trip to Mongolia during the next two weeks and Fr. Fabien will be at the A4D retreat and on a short family vacation. Regular office hours resume on August 1, 2022.
  • There will not be a Wednesday noon eucharist service for the next two weeks, July 20 & 27.
  • Would you like to pray the Daily Office but do not have the 2019 Book of Common Prayer or does it seem like too much trouble to bounce between a prayer book and a Bible looking up the daily readings? You can go to the website dailyoffice2019.com and find what you need all in one place using your computer, tablet, or smart phone. Depending on what time of day it is; Morning, Midday, Evening, or Compline Prayer with the proper Scripture readings will be displayed. You also can switch between liturgies and dates easily, as well as adjust font settings, set a 30- or 60-day Psalter cycle, set a one- or two-year reading cycle, select full or abbreviated readings, enable an audio player for scripture readings, set a traditional or seasonal rotation of canticles, and much more. Be sure to check it out!
