The vestry and others interested are going through the book Multiply: Disciples Making Disciples by Francis Chan (multiplymovement.com). We will be meeting this Sunday after the service to talk about sections 7-9 of Part IV, pages 211-250.
Jenny Turbett was our Honored Woman for 2020. Because of the pandemic, we were not able to have a celebration for her. Therefore, we will be honoring her at the next M&Ms Meeting this Saturday, October 9, at 1:00 pm at CTK. Jenny’s family and the ladies of our church are invited to come on that day to learn more about her and honor her. Please bring a sweet or savory snack to share. Beverages will be provided.
Join your CTK family on Saturday, October 23, at 12:00 pm, to have lunch at Leroy Jackson Park. The church will be supplying and grilling hamburgers and hot dogs with buns. Please bring a salad or dessert to share, as well as a lawn chair. The church will have some water but bring any other drinks you might like.
It is time to start thinking about packing shoeboxes for Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child. Jo Stauffer is heading up this ministry once again. We are tentatively planning 3 packing parties on Saturdays: October 30, November 6, and November 13. We sent off 126 packed boxes last year. Do you think we can do that again? If you haven’t already started to collect items for the boxes, you can go to www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions for suggestions about items that are appropriate and acceptable to send.
Our mission for the 4th Quarter will be Samaritan’s Purse. Go to www.samaritanspurse.org for more information about the many different things that this international relief organization participates in. The money donated will be used first to cover the collection, processing, shipping, and gospel materials that will go with our shoeboxes. Any remaining donated funds, will be given to Samaritan’s Purse to use for their many other ministries.
